Ana Rocha de Sousa is a multi-award-winning film director from Lisbon, Portugal.
Working as an actress on National Television and graduating on Painting at the Fine Arts of the University of Lisbon, felt not enough to her.
Eager to move further and to learn deeper, she went to London where she graduated as a film director with a Master’s Filmmaking degree at London Film School.
Ana’s work is a detailed reflection of her deep understanding on acting and people, combined with her drive to tell stories, great stories in the verge of emotion always with a sense of relevancy and strong visual storytelling.
Her debut film LISTEN premiered on the 77th Venice International Film Festival, where it won the Lion of the Future Prize, the Special Orizzonti Jury Prize, the ‘Sorriso Diverso Award’ for Best Foreign Film with social impact, as well as the Independent critics’ award for Best Film: Bisato d’oro award of the 77th competition. LISTEN has premiered at the main competition of leading festivals across the world and it has been nominated and awarded nationally (Portugal) and internationally.
Ana believes that touching souls can change the world and one minute is great to do so.

 

LISTEN is Ana’s debut feature fiction film which premiered at the 77th Venice Film Festival. The film started its journey by being awarded in Venice and later on premiered around the globe.
